yes, anything that automates input is a bot. However, I'll just remind you of the G-series keyboard macro fiasco, when GW gave out macro enabled keyboards as PRIZES.

Glad to see action from Anet, and while I don't use TexMod, the drunkard bot(going about it manually D: ), or a multilaunch program, I agree that Anet should issue a statement about these kinds of programs.

However, they are third party programs and whoever installed them did take a risk with using them.

Many well know players with some of the rarest minis got banned, i wonder if they will disappear forever.

By the way people are chanting for Dhumm in some districts, maybe this is the start of a cult! lol

Im pretty sure multilauncher and things like textmod or whatever are third party programs that alter the client. And drunkardbots automate gameplay. Those are all punishable offenses. I would be surprised if they were banned for that but its not improbable.

And some people actually call Guild Wars a "dead game" when a tiny percentage of the playerbase is over 3000?

Also, funny how certain vociferous complainers about "a.net letting people bot" are not to be seen in this thread.

When you have a god, why not have a religion as well?

So using the gkeys on my keyboard to perform multiple actions with one key press is botting?

Yes. A "bot" is something that automates something for you regardless of what it is.

Gaile Gray said that using the macro's of G15 is 100% legal. I have a screenshot somewhere.

It is a dead game. Compare it to when it first came out and it has less activity. There are also people out there who have 20+ accounts for when the Xunlai tournament was active. :\

Good job anet on doing something about the bots, I'd suggest you refrain from making jokes though, it can come off badly to a lot of people.

You use third party programs at your own risk. We are not responsible if the programs you download contain content that changes the original code of that program, which may incur a ban. In its original state, programs like Multi Launch or Texmod, will not fall afoul of the banhammer, however changes to those programs, instances where people have modified the original code--there are no guarantees. We do not provide any support whatsoever for third party programs.

That doesn't answer the question at all.

Are the following still allowed?

KSMod
TexMod
Multi-Launch, or other methods of running multiple clients
Macros that are not automated
I understand that defining the line between a macro and a "bot" is rather hard to do. Example: Press "CTRL num7" to execute skill # 3 on all hero skill bars. edit: Third party software allows custom hotkeys not available in the control options menu.

Thank you.

Incidentally, I have all of those installed and my account is not banned.
Better don't take the risk pal...I used TexMod for the 2nd time in my life and I got a ban...

“If you have any doubts about whether or not something is allowed by the User Agreement, don’t do it."

That sounds like good advice to me.

No offense, but that's a little vague. Could we get a simple "texmod = safe" or "GWx2 = ban"?

so to clarify for everyone, using a multi-launcher which JUST allows you to open two GW clients or using texmod which basically opens an image and binds it to the gamescreen whenever you open your big map is fine but if a program changes the code in the game (which I guess would be the dat file?) then it's not allowed and you WILL be banned for it.

Am I getting that right?

Listen.. Texmod does not alter gameplay, it substitutes textures, has never been pursued as an illegal third party program.

Multi-launchers also have not been pursued as an illegal 3rd party program because they are used primarily to transfer items between accounts.

Drunkard bot IS however a bot that provides in game benefit and has been stated as being illegal.

Gaile and the support team have said this over and over and over. I don't see that position changing any time soon.

It seems that due to the nature of varying third party programs and etc. there will be no official stance on any 3rdPP, regardless of what it does. We will probably have to corroborate what people use and if they did or did not get banned.
